On the 10th of May 2010 Ronnie suggested that we should hold the Gallina prize giving at the softball club.

There are a number cons to that suggestion: Fakkie mentioned the noise and possible complaints from the residents, there are others too, like will the spectators that leave the MX come back for the party, DJ CoCo will have to set up again at the softball club and so on. There are obviously some pros regarding that suggestion as well, riders that come in to shower after the races don’t have to drive all the way out again, after the party it is not so far to drive in late at night and although we may initially loose some after race spectators, we may also gain some locals that weren’t at the races but know that we always have a good party and so they might come. We may also gain some new MEQcross blood by taking our party/prize giving to the people.

So I have been asked to put up a poll on our forum in which members must vote and as we live in a democracy, once all the votes are counted we will hold the prize giving at the location that the majority of members have voted for. Votes will be counted on Monday morning the 7th of June 2010. Remember you must be registered on www.namibian-mx.com for your vote to be accepted. Do not complain if you would prefer the other location but you haven’t gone to the trouble to register and vote.

In fact as paid up members of the Windhoek Motocross Club you also have a right to put up a poll for anything that is bothering you or perhaps a rule change that you might think will improve the sport. We are open to any suggestions from the members and by setting up polls on the forum and by casting your votes you have a say at all the meetings without even been there. Members and riders from Swakop, Gobabis anywhere in the country can have their say by utilizing this feature. And we will be in a position to make far better, more calculated decisions.

You now have an opportunity to say you say and make a difference. If the majority of any poll is counted in favour of your suggestion, it will be considered by the committee. Please remember there are some registered users of www.namibian-mx.com that are not paid up members of the Windhoek Motocross Club and have no right to put up polls or even vote on polls that concern the every day administration of MEQcross in Namibia, but it is very difficult for us to trace each and every user so we cannot just accept every suggestion, but at least we will have a general idea of the majority of the members wishes. If you are a paid up members and you have put up a poll that you feel very strongly about, let us know by email and we will pay special attention to the outcome of the poll. Please also remember to put up an expiry date on the poll so that we know when to count the votes.

Get involved, make a difference or shut up an accept things as they are. The choice is yours.
