| African Motorcycle Union (AMU) |
The African Motorcycle Union (AMU) is a non-profit African organisation established by the FIM, the world governing body of motorcycling. It acts in all matters in relation to motorcycling activities in Africa from sport, tourism, leisure, environment, mobility, road safety, to legislative affairs and the protection and defence of the rights and interests of motorcyclists.
The AMU's aims are to develop and promote all forms of motorcycling in Africa, including the development of motorcycling, and the promotion of motorcycle sport, as well as the co-operation and friendship between its members.
12 member countries with recognised FMNs (National Federations) are: Algeria, Angola, Kenya, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The Mediterranean Association of Motorcycling is also a member as a specialist association.
The legal headquarters of the AMU are situated in Johannesburg, South Africa. |
