3rd Championships-race in Okahandja - Results |
Bierbrauer wins Okahandja Challenge MX-Trophy
Windy it was in Okahandja and only a few spectators lined the track due to another major event which took place in the flower-town. The sport on display was however first class! The times when Bierbrauer dominated the races are over; on his quick Yamaha 250 two-stroke it was Tommy Gous who won all starts.

1st WESBANK Motocross Challenge in Windhoek (NAM) - Results |
Bierbrauer wins Wesbank-Trophy
It was a racing day the (few) spectators enjoyed. Unfortunately the upcoming Rugby tournament must have kept a lot of people from coming to Gallina. Honda was the brand with the most wins. A pleasant surprise was that Jose Teixeira brought four MX-riders with him from Angola.

Moto Cross 2008 |
Since 2001 I am reporting about the Namibian Motocross sport. Each year we had some highlights worth mentioning but there were three exceptional highlights in the past years: firstly the opening of the Gallina Moto Cross Park in 1995, then twelve years ago the first edition of the Inter-Series, and lastly the year 2002, when more than 25 Europeans participated in the Inter-Series.

9th Championships-race in Okahandja - Results |
Tommy Gous is "King of the Dirt"
First and foremost we want to congratulate the organisers from the Okahandja Moto Cross Club. Everything was perfect; the organisation, the configuration of the track and the major financial input by the Muller family was rewarded with an exciting racing day. The 1st Okahandja MX-Festival of Speed was the major happening of the year for the town. Spectator numbers were a bit low though.
