Older MX-fans might remember the legendary John Banks, who won the British Championships four times during his illustrious career. He was even vice world-champion once. He is none other than Elliot’s grandfather!

The writer of these lines has seen plenty of rider-profiles during the course of his long engegement in signing riders, but never before such an interesting list of accomplishments as supplied by the rider from Scotland, Richard Reid. This man has tried everything on two offroad-wheels possible and even was part of the management-team organising Grand Prix-Racing.

It is really not easy to surprise the spectators every year, but we do our best. Last year we had the young South African Kerim Fitzgerald, this year it could be the Frenchman Pierre Alexandre Renet or Vitaly Tonkov from Russia. The latter was already good for a surprise during a previous Inter-Series and won the “Namibia Trophy of Nations 2000” together with his partner Sergej Garin.

For the past 8 years Angolan Star ZE COMANDO, some call him Jose Carlos Westwood Teixeira, is participating in the annual Namibian Inter-Series.
ZE COMANDO was born on 19th August 1966 in Benguela. After his parents moved to Potugal, ZE COMANDO there was introduced to mx-racing aboard a Casal-Boss 50cc.

Moto Cross Inter-Series 2008: E-MED Team - The Netherlands |
"Flying-Dutchman" Mart de Jong started racing in 1990 in the 80cc Class. In 1995 Mart raced the Dutch Championships 125cc Class and finished that year in 8th place. In 1998 , because he grew so tall, he moved over to the 250cc Class and finished 10th overall. The year after Mart raced the German Championships 125cc Class and came 14th overall.

Botswana will be represented by a youngster who already shone at previous Inter-Series when he won the 85cc Class in 2001, when he skillfully demonstrated his guts by winning the 2002 Inter-Series 125cc Class, when he became "AMU Africa 125cc Champion" in 2003, and he repeated that feat in 2005 and all that at his beloved Gallina Motocross Park.

"Wesbank-Jägermeister Inter-Series" in the making!
For the 12th time the annual Inter-Series takes place here in Namibia, on the 8th and 15th of November. It is the biggest Motocross series on the African continent. After several attempts, the chairman of the AMU Moto Cross Working Group, Michael Nederlof (Namibia), eventually managed to nominate these two races as predicate-races which form part of the championship of Southern Africa (Southern MX-Challenge). Our fellow countryman had to do a lot of persuading at the AMU board down south.

South African Fitzgerald wins Camel "Cash"
The South African Kerim Fitzgerald became the overall winner of the "Camel MX - Dash for Cash" on a maximum number of points. Almost 1,800 spectators came to Gallina Motocross Park and the Windhoek Moto Cross Club was very satisfied with the proceeds. But they were even more satisfied with the riders and the exciting races they presented. Without exagerating, this 11th Inter-Series was the most exciting the spectators ever witnessed.

Moto Cross Inter-Series 2007 - Camel MX - Dash for Cash - Preview |
On Saturday November 10th the 2nd Leg of the international "Camel MX-Dash for Cash" motocross gets started at the Gallina Moto Cross Park, 15 Kilometers outside of Windhoek, on the road towards Okahandja.
Close to 90 riders in all Classes will battle it out for glory and pricemoney. Riders flown in from Europe will fight versus the best riders from southern Africa like Angola, Botswana, Zambia, South Africa and host country Namibia.
