The first leg of the Air Namibia Inter-Series was once again filled with superlatives. The organiser - Windhoek Moto Cross Club (WMCC) – kept its promise and delivered "Power, Speed & Action". After 3 exceptionally exciting heats, the German, Benjamin Kolberg (Jägermeister Team) had a headstart of one point. Ross Branch from Botswana put on quite a show during the "E.L. Sea Products King of the Dirt".

The countdown for the Inter-Series has begun and the Windhoek Moto Cross Club is proud to announce that top-riders from Europe and southern Africa will race this year at the Air Namibia Inter-Series, sponsored by our national airliner Air Namibia and Jägermeister, Red Bull, Winston and Tafel Lager.

For the 10th anniversary of the annual Air Namibia Inter-Series, the organisers of the Windhoek Moto Cross Club (WMCC) can announce the special appearance of Steffi Laier, the undisputable motocross superstar from Germany.

Steffi made girls-racing popular, not only in Europe, even more so in the USA! She is the multiple American AMA Womens Champion, the 2005 FIM Womens’s World Champion and the 2006 FIM Women’s Vice-World Champion. Her Rider-Profile is much too long, we just reflect her major achievements.

Today we want to introduce to our readers the host nation, the "E.L. Sea Products- Namibia Team". The chances for the Namibian riders are more than good. The "Fear" of the unknown quality of European riders has completly vanished, since the Namibians were not only succesful on home-turf, but also did extremly well at the "1998 Deutschland-Tour".

For many decades Murray & Roberts is shaping the face of Namibia’s capital Windhoek. Most landmark buildings in Windhoek, but also elsewhere, are the product of this leading construction company. In 2006 Murray & Roberts helped the Windhoek Moto Cross Club by lending a helping hand, when assistance was needed, in building the Kiddies-Track. This quality track is most probably the best track for children in the whole of southern Africa. Murray & Roberts became therfore the patrons of the Team from our northeastern neighbours Zimbabwe.

Namibia Lubricants, distributor of WM Penn Oils as well as the famous Fuchs brand from Mannheim in Germany, will become the patrons of Team South Africa. Especially Fuchs-Öl is very much involved in Offroad racing in Europe, be it Moto Cross, Speedway or Enduros.

For thirtyfour years Nambrew supported mx-racing in Namibia. For the past 9 years they have been main-sponsor of the annual Inter-Series, the biggest Moto Cross Series of it’s kind on the African continent! Now we have to part…Pepsi and Tafel Lager cannot identify anymore with Namibia’s X-Tremesport Number One! What a sad day!

This year, for the 5th time, the Provincial Motorbike Association Benguela (Angola) confirmed that 2 of their best MX-Riders wish to partcipate at the "Inter-Series” in Windhoek. Namibia Construction, the reputable partner in the Building Industry, took over the patronage for Angola. Namibia Construction was instrumental in building the Kiddies-track in the beginning of the year 2006. For the past 4 years Namibia Construction is always lending a helping hand, when support is needed.

E-Med is a true supporter of motocross for the last 4 years already. They support mx-racing by having paramedics at each and every national at subsidised rates available. It is therefore that E-MED becomes the patrons for Team-USA who will be represented by an American student named Keith Weaver.

Andreas Brendel, proprietor at AB Construction, has himself a Flattrack, Motocross and Enduro background, therefore he fully understood the situation when Dutchman Mart de Jong required some assistance to race again in Namibia. Andreas offered him his bike as well as accomodation.

The distributors of the „Jägermeister“ brand are engaged in mx-racing for the 3rd year already. At Gallina the afterrace-party is traditionally known as the Jägermeister-Party amongst the Windhhoek Youths. In 2006 they even went further and sponsored individual mx-riders like Ronnie Adams, Shawn Bruwer and Jose Teixeira. Jägermeister, being a German product, it was quite obvious that they would become the sponsors of the German-Team.
