Yamaha Motocross Team’s Joshua Coppins (NZL, Yamaha) experienced a very unlucky race weekend at Round 11 of the MX1 World Championship held at Loket (CZE). He scored two DNF’s and sustained an injury to his left shoulder when he crashed in the second moto. Although first examinations did not reveal any fractures, a MRI scan yesterday discovered a small crack in the neck of his glenoid, a part of the shoulder blade.
The 11th round of the 2007 motocross world championships took place amidst the spectacular scenery of Loket in the Czech Republic. The world's top riders duly reported for duty in the Bohemian village, not far across the German border. The visual delights of the historic town were all but forgotten however as the riders got down to the serious business of qualifying for the race and extracting the maximum possible points haul from the weekend.
The German Sturm Racing Team confirmed they recently found an agreement with US rider Jeff Alessi to race the MX1 GP series and the German MX-Masters in 2008.
Team Green have confirmed that the Kawasaki Racing Team/Team Kawasaki Europe will continue to be the manufacturer’s flagship entry in the MX1 Motocross World Championship for 2008 despite the sad and untimely passing of Team Manager Jan de Groot in June.
