With the Moto Cross season that started last weekend on the sandy Gallina MX Track, the Honda Muxima Racing team presented their line up in the El Portuga Restaurant in Klein Windheok on Tuersday evening the 26th of february. With succefull racing results during the 2008 season, Team Manager Jose Teixeira is confident that his Team will make headlines this year and that a lot can be expected from his riders.

American Honda announced today that Honda Red Bull Racing rider Ben Townley’s return to competition will be delayed due to rehabilitation complications.

Firstly the feedback of the International Series held on the 8th and 15th of November:

As usual, the Windhoek Moto Cross Club did an excellent job hosting the 12th running of the Inter Series and again we had top riders from Europe, Canada, United States and South Africa that competed against our local riders.

This past weekend the Moto-Cross community made a move back to the coast for the 8th Namibian National for 2008. The Swakopmund track was well prepared and would have a lot in store for the riders.

On Saturday it was back to ASTRA for the running of the 5th National MX Championship event. The track was well prepped and our riders could not wait to show their capabilities.

During the practice session of the 65cc class, it became clear that Matthew was going to have one of his best racing days. He was flying from the start and although no lines or berms had formed, he was bettering his previous lap times with every lap completed and carried that momentum into his heats.

What else can we ask or desire? 1st, 2nd and 3rd on the 125 Class; 3rd on 65 Class; 2nd, 5th and 6th on K.O.T.D., and 1st in Clubmans Class...

A short note from Cottbus in Germany.

You probably all know by now that I ride for Kölling Yamaha this year which is an awesome team. First of all a special thank you to my sponsors E.L. Sea Products and NAMIT from Namibia who made it possible for me to race in Germany. Then I also want to thank Carsten and Jacqueline Kölling who accommodate me at their home.

On the 04/04 a club race in Frankenthal was organised for the girls.

At the first race i got the holeshot and could lead the race for 4 laps but then the little practise screwed me and I could not keep it anymore and Jenny Lang passed me which is faster than me in anyway I finished second the first heat.

What a day!

I believe it was the best race of the year for riders, espectators and even photographers... such nice photos i've seen all these days. But back to the race...
