Yamaha Monster Motocross Team’s Joshua Coppins (NZL, Yamaha) is facing a rush to be fully fit for the opening round of the 2008 FIM MX1-GP World Championship in two weeks after an incident while training Saturday morning (22nd March) caused the New Zealander to break two toes on his right foot and undergo immediate surgery.
What are your expectations for the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team in 2008?
It is our goal to bring the entire team through the season in good health and to see a couple of our guys on the podium every Sunday. Together with Stefan Everts we have prepared a three-year plan and now we go together into the second season
This past weekend saw our riders competing at the second Namibian National event held on the brand new ASTRA track. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Goldbeck Family for the superb track and facilities which they have made available to Namibian motocross.
This past Saturday saw the first round of the Namibian MX championship held at Gallina. The anticipation by our team was running high as both riders were on ‘new’ bikes. Tommy would for the first time race his 2008 YZ450F with revised handling and engine characteristics and Matthew having moved up from the 50cc automatic clutched bike to a six speed 65cc bike. On top of that, the track was flooded for the past two weeks and a mud race was anticipated.
