The Kawasaki GPKR team is pleased to announce that Kevin Strijbos (BEL) has joined Sébastien Pourcel (FRA) and will contest the 2008 FIM MX1 World Championship aboard a factory KX450F. Miss Livia Lancelot (FRA) is the third member of the squad and will enter the Women’s World Championship on a KX250F.
The Yamaha Van Beers GP Motocross Racing Team has confirmed Evgeny Bobryshev (RUS) as MX2 rider for the 2008 MX season. The talented Russian teenager from Kaluga, has inked a two year deal with the Dutch based team after an impressive ride at the Motocross of European Nations where Bobryshev beat factory riders Maximilian Nagl (GER), Manuel Priem (BEL) and Marcus Schiffer (GER) in the final Moto of the teams event.
Shannon Terreblanche (RSA) capped his 2007 European racing season in fine style with an emphatic victory at the Schijndel supercross. This event has enjoyed an uninterrupted run of 24 years and has become one of the classics on the European calendar. The fact that the race takes place in two adjacent halls of a manege normally used for equestrian events, adds to the charm, and once a year, the snort of horses makes way for the far more intense grunt of racing motorcycles.
Moto Vision's new racing division, MVR-D Suzuki, is pleased to announce that Carl Nunn (GBR) is to partner Jason Dougan (GBR) in an assault on the MX2 British and World Championships in 2008.
Nunn won the British MX2-crown in 2005 and 2006 and will be looking to get back to the top as well as looking for more success at World Level.
Wyatt Avis (RSA) confirmed this week that he will be switching to Honda Motorcycles for the 2008 MX World Championship season. The 23 year old South African will join the LS Motors Honda Vangani Racing team, and will remain in the MX2 class in the world serie for 2008. Apart from this, he will participate in the Open Class in the Belgian Championship serie, as well as in the Dutch Championships in the MX2 class.
