It was a really hot day for the enormous Italian crowd at Circuito Internazionale Città di Mantova, playing host to a breathtaking Motocross Grand Prix. The 51st edition of the FIM Motocross Grand Prix of Italy was won by New Zealander Joshua Coppins in the MX1 class, as Italian Motocross idol Antonio Cairoli made the home fans crazy by dominating both MX2 heats.

Kevin Strijbos was the fastest MX1 rider of the day, thanks to an incredible lap on the newly modified Circuito Internazionale Città di Mantova. Home rider Antonio Cairoli won the first qualifying race, as British young gun Tommy Searle won the second one.
Yesterday Mr. Ian Shrosbree, organizer of the Grand Prix of South Africa and managing director of Topcar Sports Management, and Mr. Giuseppe Luongo, President of Youthstream, made a 5 year agreement for the Grand Prix of South Africa.
The round of the MX1/MX2 World Championships scheduled in Sun City, South Africa, on July 15, is cancelled. A replacement for the event is currently under study by the FIM/CMS and Series promoter Youthstream.
The 3rd round of the FIM MX3 Motocross World Championship in Talavera de la Reina, Spain, saw Belgian Sven Breugelmans (BEL, KTM) clinch his first victory of 2007. Alvaro Lozano (ESP, KTM) was second overall, ahead of a very consistent Christophe Martin (FRA, KTM).

The FIM Motocross Grand Prix of Portugal was surely the hottest of the three rounds that were held so far. A dry and very demanding Crossódromo Internacional do Casarão enjoyed a very healthy crowd attendance, with 18,000 spectators, and hosted two unpredictable Grand Prix’s.
Warm Portuguese welcome for the FIM Motocross World Championship
The first day of the Portuguese Grand Prix got underway yesterday, with a sunny and warm weather welcoming the riders on the Crossódromo Internacional do Casarão in Agueda.
