A very hot temperature and a very dry track made everyone forget of yesterday’s rain, and of last year’s incredibly wet race. The Gorna Rositza circuit was conquered by Yamaha’s winning duo Joshua Coppins (NZL, Yamaha) – MX1 - and Antonio Cairoli (ITA, Yamaha) – MX2 - who both increased their Championship lead.

The opening day of the FIM Motocross Grand Prix of Bulgaria got underway today on the Gorna Rositza track in Sevlievo, less than 200 kilometres from Sofia.

At this eighth round, Frenchman Sebastien Pourcel (FRA, Kawasaki) clinched his first pole position of the season, which is also the first one since he joined the MX1 class at the beginning of the year. His brother Christophe Pourcel (FRA, Kawasaki) won the first Qualifying heat, and will start from pole tomorrow, right next to Championship leader Antonio Cairoli (ITA, Yamaha), winner of the second Qualifying heat.

In the MX3 World Championship, runner up Yves Demaria (FRA, Yamaha) is closing in on current leader Sven Breugelmans (BEL, KTM) thanks to today’s victory of round six of the series.

On this seventh Sunday of FIM World Motocross racing the heat increased, making the Circuit du Puy de Poursay a sweltering one. It was a tough day for the World Championship riders and for the 28,000 spectators, who forgot about the burning sun by watching four extremely battled moto’s.

A very hot Saturday gave the start to the seventh round of the FIM Motocross World Championship, the Grand Prix of France, which is on this weekend at the Circuit du Puy de Poursay. An impressive Tanel Leok conquered his third seasonal pole by snatching it from home rider Sebastien Pourcel in the dieing seconds of the Qualifying session.
