MX3 World Championship in Roggenburg (SUI) |
Yves Demaria wins the MX3 World Championship
Under a sunny sky, the last race of the MX3 World Championship in Roggenburg was important for two riders today. First for Yves Demaria (FRA, KTM): at the end of the MX3 series he finally grasped the World Title he lost in 2005 and snatched number one from Team mate Sven Breugelmans (BEL, KTM), winner of the MX3 Motocross World Championship last year. But also Marc Ristori (SUI, Honda) had a superb day on his home track, winning both motos and securing his fourth place in the World Championship standings right in front of his fans.

MX World Championship - Grand Prix of Netherlands in Lierop (NED) |
33135 people were in Lierop this weekend for the Motocross World Championship, ending into a rainy but spectacular Sunday. Having locked the Championship in Namur, Stefan Everts (BEL, Yamaha) next goal was grasping the 100 win record. He tried in Desertmartin but CAS Honda rider Joshua Coppins (NZL: Honda) crashed the party. Everts already said that Lierop would have been a tough race and so it was. Especially for his rivals trying to stop him but without succeeding in their mission. Yamaha factory rider Everts brought his YZ450FM to victory in both motos and actually dominated from the first lap of each moto.
