Finally the action started yesterday on the Eurocircuit at Valkenswaard, the host of the first Motocross GP of the 2008 campaign. It was a first rainy day, with showers from the mid morning until the beginning of the afternoon, leaving the sandy track quite wet. Ken de Dycker took the pole as he did last year in much drier conditions, while team mates Tyla Rattray and Tommy Searle won the MX2 qualifying heats.
On this weekend the Grand Prix of the Netherlands will take place at the Eurocircuit in Valkenswaard (NED). Yesterday was a day of presentations and all the major teams showed off their new sponsors and riders.
Last Saturday the IFMXF season started with the Suzuki NIGHT of the JUMPs and the first contest of the FIM Freestyle MX World Championship 2008. A totally sold out Tipsport Arena in Liberec (CZE) welcomed 12 Freestyle Motocross riders out of nine nations. And the season opening delivered a lot new faces.
The round of the MX1/MX2 Motocross World Championships scheduled in Belgium on August 3, will be held in Lommel (instead of Namur). The calendar is the following:
