IFMXF FIM World Championships in Riga (LAT) - 2nd Day |
Ailo Gaup strikes back
Second day NIGHT of the JUMPs in Riga. It was the tenth’ round of the FIM Freestyle MX World Championship. Even with a broken hand and an injured shoulder Ailo Gaup started, as well as the 11 other FMX riders from Saturday.

A most impressive return of André Villa
The IFMXF premiere in Riga was the eighth round of the FIM Freestyle MX World Championship. It started with rider Ailo Gaup (NOR) in the lead, followed by the IFMXF comeback of André Villa (NOR). Three German riders made their way to Riga, Busty Wolter (GER), Fabian Bauersachs (GER) and Lukas Weis (GER). Johansson (SWE), Koren and Podmol (both CZE), Kjorstad (NOR), Franklin (NZL), Bianconcini (ITA) and Jussi Seljas (FIN) completed the group of participants.

The Return of André Villa |
After nearly a year absence, FMX Pro André Villa (NOR) returns to the IFMXF at the NIGHT of the JUMPs in Riga following weekend. The Rookey of the Year 2005 had good chances to win the first FIM Freestyle MX World Championships. He also had his ticket for the X-Games 2006, but unfortunately a knee injury at the Dew Tour took him off for more than 8 months. Now the Norway guy returns to the IFMXF Track. To his comeback Oliver Franke had the chance of an impressive interview with him.

With Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations USA wins 18th Chamberlain Trophy
An incredibly crowded Budds Creek Motocross Park, with a total of 75,000 fans, hosted this eventful Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations. With hot and demanding weather conditions, team America dominated on home soil, ahead of France and Belgium, who were separated by just one point, while Italy and Great Britain rounded off the top five.

Americans dominate day one of Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations
Budds Creek is surely home ground for each of the members of team USA, Ricky Carmichael (MX1), Ryan Villopoto (MX2) and Tim Ferry (Open) all won their qualifying heats, making a healthy home crowd go mad along the 1,500 metre long circuit.

FIM Motocross of Nations back to America after
20 year absence
A thrilled Budds Creek Motocross Park is getting ready to host the Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations, which will represent the 61st edition of the event and currently has 35 teams entered. This weekend’s race will be a special one, as it will mark the Motocross of Nations’ comeback to America – the winningest country at the event and also the reigning Champion - after an absence of 20 years. The last American edition of the event was held at Unadilla Valley in 1987.

MX3 World Championship in Faenza (ITA) - Results |
Third World Championship title for Yves Demaria
The final race of the MX3 World Championship was held on the Italian ground of Faenza. The weather conditions were perfect for the race, and the crowd was very excited about this last chase to the Title. Experienced French rider Yves Demaria (FRA, Yamaha), who took the lead in the Championship Classification after the previous MX3 event in Switzerland, had a big chance to become World Champion after the first heat, and he did not miss it.
