Steve Mini lights bushfire in Namibia

This was never seen in Namibia. On Saturday 12 FMX athletes of the IFMXF entered the African continent and jumped Windhoek for the NIGHT of the JUMPs into the ground. The air was burning on the FMX parkour at Tony Rust Race Track. Remi Bizouard gambled away in the qualifying and missed the finals. But in the end he could celebrate, as Podmol and Miralles only came up on fourth and fifth position. So the French rider has a lead of 23 points and defended his title.

19.11.2009 IFMXF FIM World Championships in Windhoek (NAM) - Preview
The FIM Freestyle MX World Championships 2009 are close to it’s final decision. On upcoming Saturday the FMX riders will fight for the second last points of the World Cup at the NIGHT of the JUMPs in Windhoek/Namibia. Due to the security cancellation of the contests in Zagreb only 40 points are left to collect for the overall ranking. Last years World Champ Remi Bizouard leads with 27/28 points ahead of Jose Miralles and Libor Podmol. If the French rider wins at Tony Rust Race Track, he would defend his title automatic. Should Bizouard end up behind Miralles and Podmol, but looses only 7 or 8 points to them, he still would hold the crown.

Julien Vanni surprised with the first victory

The FIM MX3 World Championship season has started in Hawkstone Park with the French happiness. Championship has a new, improved look this year. Also the first winner is new in the MX3 World Championship. Julien Vanni from the Italian MB Team Honda clinched his first MX3 victory and surprised even himself. Second was home British rider Brad Anderson and World Champion 2008 Sven Breugelmans finished third.

Superb Cairoli ends Turkish experience with GP win

The first ever Turkish GP kept up the level of excitement in this year’s FIM Motocross World Championship courtesy of an action packed event. New Championship leader Tony Cairoli took a clean sweep in the MX1 class after a great second heat battle with defending Champion Philippaerts. Zach Osborne won the MX2 class ahead of current Championship leader Paulin.

Cairoli and Osborne hand Yamaha Istanbul’s pole positions

The first appearance of the FIM MX World Championship in Turkey begun today with great weather conditions and two enthralling qualifying heats. Cairoli won the MX1 heat while Osborne took the MX2 as both sealed their first pole of the season. Cairoli dominated the majority of the MX1 qualifying with Osborne exploiting a mistake of early leader Paulin.

De Dycker takes MX1 Championship lead / Musquin grasps maiden GP success

A great Motocross show went on today with four exciting moto’s in between the MX1 and MX2 classes which were won respectively by Josh Coppins and Marvin Musquin. Clinching two second places Coppins was back to victory after a one year absence from the top step of the podium while De Dycker took the MX1 Championship lead. Musquin sealed his and Honda’s maiden MX2 Grand Prix win courtesy of a dominant performance in heat one.

Exciting qualifying heats give pole’s to De Dycker and Musquin

Again two exciting qualifying moto’s decided the start gate positions for tomorrow’s Grand Prix with Ken de Dycker taking the MX1 pole and Marvin Musquin the MX2. De Dycker had to battle it out with team mate Ramon and Desalle before wrapping up the qualifying heat win as Musquin dominated the MX2 heat after a stunning pre-qualifying.

Tanel Leok wins at rain plagued Faenza as young guns dominate MX2

The opening Grand Prix of the World Motocross Championship was a wet one at Faenza. Tanel Leok (MX1) and Gautier Paulin (MX2) won the event as the overall classification was based on the first moto results only – the second moto’s were cancelled.

The 2009 FIM Motocross World series kicked off today with the qualifying of the MX1, MX2 and Veterans classes. The day saw already a great crowd welcoming this improved series having 40 riders at the gate battling it out through two qualifying heats.
