The Windhoek Moto Cross Club (WMCC) hosts its annual "Fun Day" at the Gallina Moto Cross Park on the 25th of March. This year, the family day takes place wholly in the name of the "WMCC-MX-development programme 2006", especially for 4-8 year old kids.

Having had such a good experience with this programme at the first WESBANK-race, the WMCC hopes for even more participating parents and children on the coming family day. The kids will be introduced to this interesting sport by professional instructors.

For this purpose, two 50cc bikes are available. The kids will learn that a lot of discipline is involved in this sport, an important educational aspect. Furthermore, that it is a sport which involves the whole family, and that there are few sports where father and son/daugther spend so much time together as in MX-sport. From the start, the kids get familiar with the technical aspects and when they are about 10 years old they will be able to do the oil change and filter change etc. on their own. All this theory will be explained to the kids and parents. The highlight will be to see the little ones roll along the children's race track for the first time!

Apart from MX, entertaining games such as sackrace, "catch the sausage" and egg race will be offered, while the parents attend to the "Bring & Braai". Beverages will be available in the beer-barn.

This introductory course for beginners is being sponsored by Rent-A-Drum. The WMCC hopes that all active riders, parents, sponsors and all those interested in MX-racing, will support this family day by joining in the fun. The Gallina Moto Cross Park is situated 1 kilometre behind the Döbra exit, directly on the street to Okahandja, on the Waldschmidt-Poultryfarm.
