You all have been advised by our secretary, Melody Loots, that the AGM (Annual General Meeting) will be held on 20th January at the SKW (Sport Klub Windhoek) in the Olympia suburb. Please show up in droves!

One of the points to be discussed will be the introduction of a new concept, which could became a draw-card in the 2007 season … Speed-Cross is the key word. It will be a 4-lapper race and it looks like stars from yesteryear are highly interested in competing in this new class.

I have it from informed sources, that big names like of ex-champions Eckhard Waldschmidt, Stephan Gradtke, Kai Hohmeier, Gunther Rubow, Uwe Sternagel, Ian Kotze, the Brendel-Brothers, Doolie Engels and Nevil Louw are very keen in racing again. I also heard it through the grapevine that if this concept gets moving we can expect even riders like Mike Swanepoel, Rainer Becker, Gino Rossi, Gino Meyer, Wolfgang Rohe, Rainer Windisch and even Fakkie Gous would take his helmet from the wall again.

I was also informed that Arno Engels, once upon a time a real star on Namibian soil, who raced one season in Denmark and The Netherlands, is back again and will be competing in the Open-Class category.

So it looks in 2007, after some stagnation in the sport, we can look forward to an interesting season ahead of us.
