Murray & Roberts – Team Zimbabwe
For many decades Murray & Roberts is shaping the face of Namibia’s capital Windhoek. Most landmark buildings in Windhoek, but also elsewhere, are the product of this leading construction company. In 2006 Murray & Roberts helped the Windhoek Moto Cross Club by lending a helping hand, when assistance was needed, in building the Kiddies-Track. This quality track is most probably the best track for children in the whole of southern Africa. Murray & Roberts became therfore the patrons of the Team from our northeastern neighbours Zimbabwe.
Team-Captain of the Zimbabwe-Team will be Dale Holliday who previously raced very successful in the Namibian Inter-Series, namely in the year 2000 and in 2002. Despite the fact that Dale is 40 years old he still knows how to race! He won the Zimbabwean national-title in the Open Class in 2000 and in 2001. In 2002 he participated in the AMU-Africachampionships and finished in overall 5th in the 125cc Class category. Dale is like good old wine…the older, the better he gets!
Dale gets accompanied by young talent Jayden Ashwell who is a top-gun back home in Zimbabwe, but also impressed at last years Air Namibia Inter-Series when he fair and square won the 65cc category! He just want to repeat that feat. Jayden’s older brother Keagan will race the 85cc Class where he may expect tough competition. In last years Inter-Series Keagan finished in 4th spot, this year his eyes are fixed on a spot on the rostrum. And there is the smallest of them all, Wade Ashwell who will represent his country in the 50cc Kindergarten-Class. Welcome to Namibia, guys!
Don't forget ... Air Namibia Moto Cross Inter-Series, on October 28th and November 4th at Gallina Moto Cross Park, 15 kilos outside of Windhoek, on the road towards Okahandja.
