Countdown towards Air Namibia-Jägermeister MX Classic!
The countdown for the Inter-Series has begun and the Windhoek Moto Cross Club is proud to announce that top-riders from Europe and southern Africa will race this year at the Air Namibia Inter-Series, sponsored by our national airliner Air Namibia and Jägermeister, Red Bull, Winston and Tafel Lager.
The latest entry came from Botswana, Calvin Collington signing a contract. In the MR Repairs Open Class & Seasonaire 125cc Class, which get started together, there will be a line-up of riders from Germany. The Netherlands, USA, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Angola and of course host country Namibia. There will be some favourites like Dewalt van der Berg (South Africa), Mart de Jong (The Netherlands), Benny Kolberg (Germany), but there will be also a girl, the multiple World Champion Stephanie Laier from Germany. For the first time on the African continent we can witness how she fares versus her male competitors!
All National Classes will race plus there will be international Quad-Bike Racing with participants from Botswana and South Africa. On the 28th October, after the prize-giving, for the first time in Namibia, the Winston Pit-Bike Clash will get started, a rather amusing race of grown-ups on Pit-Bikes. Thereafter the Red Bull X-Fighters Show Namibia gets started with some of South Africa’s best Freestylers like Ryan Ronnacher, Alastair Sayer and Hein Fick showing us some daredevil aerobatics! After the Red Bull Freestyle Show the Jägermeister Party with DJ-Coco will hammmer it out!
Again the day will start off with international motocross racing. In the evening at about 19:00 p.m. fathers, helpers, mechanics jump on their Pit-Bikes for the Winston Pit-Bike Clash! Thereafter the Red Bull X-Fighters Show Namibia will offer you some adrenalin-rush, that’s for sure! And then comes the bonus-event, the special for the 10th anniversary of the Air Namibia Inter-Series, the Tafel Lager Battle of the Bands, with the best musicians and Bands Namibia has to offer: Sense Unknown, Dylan’s Jam Band, Mojo Blues Electric Band and as a real "Schmankerl" the Windhoek Moto Cross Club presents the winners of the Namibian Music Awards 2006 … Penilane! Rock till you drop!
All this and more will happen at the "Gallina Moto Cross Park
", 15 kilometers outside of Windhoek, on the road towards Okahandja … the biggest Show in Namibia over two weekends!
