Nowadays, more then ever before, sponsors are reluctant to sponsor any kind of sports in Namibia. The time of handouts has gone for ever, sponsors like banks or industrialists want to know exactly what the sponsor money is used for. Many - and right they are - ask themselves the question; what do I get in return for sponsoring a certain type of sport? Can I rely on signed agreements? Can we identify with the sport?
One exemplary Club who knows all this is the Windhoek Moto Cross Club (WMCC) who is proud to say that their PR-campaigns alone are extraordinary wide-spread and second to none. Most of Namibia’s print-media reports extensively on Moto-X, radio stations and very often the NBC-TV all lend a helping hand to this small club with a great reputation. And it has not gone unnoticed.

Paul Loots, Sponsorship-Manager of the WMCC was invited to a meeting in which Wesbank, an affiliate of First National Bank of Namibia, confirmed their sponsorship for 2008. Elmarie Cilliers (Head of Wesbank) reiterated that she is very pleased with the positive image of the WMCC. No scandals, good club governance and racing events held at the highest level - the WMCC functions as a role model, said Mrs Cilliers.
Paul Loots thanked for the kind words and the generous cheque and expressed his hopes that Wesbank will stay a faithful supporter for many years to come.
