National MX News : Namibian Inter-Series
30.10.2008 Moto Cross Inter-Series 2008: Main sponsor “Jägermeister”
The time has come again! The 12. edition of the annual international Motocross "Inter-Series" takes place on 8th of November as well as on the 15th of November. Noteworthy is the fact, that both races are counting towards the "AMU Championship Southern Africa", in short called “Southern Challenge”. This mega motorsport event in Namibia gains official recognition from the African Motorcycle Union.
Promoter of this highlight in motorsports is once more the Windhoek Moto Cross Club, who organise mx-racing in Namibia for the past 36years exactly and is the biggest motorsport code in the country.

While the first race on November 8th gets sponsored by Messrs Jägermeister under the official name “Jägermeister MX-Classic, it was Messrs Wesbank who came forward to sponsor the 2nd raceday on November 15th under the official name “Wesbank-MX Dash for Cash”. Jägermeister is part of the Inter-Series for the fifth time and paid a substantial amount of money to make this annual Moto-X event happen. Some excellent riders have been signed from Europe and the USA, but also top riders from Angola, South Africa, Botswana and of course host Namibia, are keen to take the “Namibia International Champion” title to their repective home-country. After the prize-giving the long “Jägermeister Party” gets started, fans have a chance to see live the Shell Helix Gladiator Freestyle Show with “flyers” like IFMXF World Cup competitor Werner van der Merwe, showing us some daredevil aerobatics! His specialities are: Tsunami, Superman, Rock Solid Indian Air, Nofoot CanCan, Ruler-Tsunami, and a highlight his Longdistance-Backflip. Werner finsihed at the IFMXF Worldcup in Salzburg (Austria) in a solid 11th position.
The second guy in line is Hein Fick, the renowned Freestyler from Gauteng. What he can do on a bike is just amazing. He does all the classics, like Cliffhanger, Cordova, Barhop, Hartattack, Tsunami you name it. The crowd will love him!
Don’t forget: “Jägermeister MX-Classic” on November 8th and one week later, November 15th the “Wesbank-MX Dash for Cash”. The sponsorship was handed over by Rene Kruger, Sales Manager at Brockmann & Kriess to the chairman of the WMCC Tobie Barlow.
