15.05.2009 Tony Rust Enduro - Results
The Windhoek Motor-Cross Club staged the third Motorcycle Enduro racing event for 2009 at Tony Rust Race Track – situated just outside Windhoek on 9 May.
The race got underway with thirty five competitors in dry dusty conditions. Competitors needed to complete four laps of the thirty seven kilometres and the support classes three laps. Competitors started off with one minute intervals for the dust and per championship standings. A challenging track was laid out by the organisers. The mountains outside Windhoek provided a good challenge for all riders. The route ran along a common path with some special sections for the national bikes while the quads and support classes shared the same route.
Honda Windhoek the main sponsor of the event where again not disappointed by their team winning both class one and two. Other manufactures also made it count in the hands of the privateers with a win for Suzuki in the ladies quad class and Kawasaki winning the support quads and bike class.
The open class was won by Henner Rusch, with Ingo Waldschmidt taking second place KTM 300 and Heiko Hennes took third place on a Honda CRF 450.
The 200 class was won by Therald Murch on a Honda CRF 250, with Jörn Greiter in second place on a KTM 200 and Andreas Brendel KTM 200 in third.
The National Quad class had no results as there were no riders who finished the minimum distance.
The Ladies Quad class was won by Maike Bochert on her Suzuki, Yana de Jesus on a Honda TRX 450 took second place with Liezl Davies Honda TRX 450 in third.
The Support bikes class was won by Claude Brendel on a Kawasaki KDX 200. Second was Antonio Simoes on a Honda CRF 250 and third was Micheal Tröh.
The Support Quad class was won by Anleo Collins on a Kawasaki, with Mark Johnson on a Yamaha in second place and Stefan Mans on a TRX 450 in third.
The next race will be on the 6th of June 2009 in the Gobabis District.
