24.09.2009 6th Round of the Namibian National Enduro Series - results
On Saturday 19 September, the Windhoek Motor-Cross Club staged the sixth Motorcycle Enduro racing event for 2009 at Farm Kanona in the Omaruru district.
The race got underway with sixty four competitors in warm sunny conditions. Competitors needed to complete five 34.5km laps, with the support classes having to complete 3 laps. Competitors started off with thirty second intervals for the dust and per championship standings. A challenging and sandy route was laid out by the organisers with some thick sand river beds.
The recently crowned SORC champion Henner Rusch was first of the line with his team mate Heiko Hennes in hot pursuit who managed to pass him on the first lap. Henner however managed to make a comeback in the second lap and then maintained his lead to bring his Honda CRF 450X home first for the sixth straight time this season and keeping his unbeaten record going for the series. The support bikes and quads had a good turnout with 25 and 17 entrants respectively. Series sponsor Honda’s Phillip van der Merwe was very happy with the growth in the entries in these classes and said that this was great for the development of the sport.
The Namibian championship results were as follows:
The open class was won by Henner Rusch, with Heiko Hennes taking second place both on Honda CRF 450X’s. Dwen Brown took third place on a KTM 250 XCW.
Eckhard Waldschmidt on a KTM 250F won the 200 class, followed by Jörn Greiter in second place on a KTM 200. Therald Murch on a Honda CRF 250X was placed third.

The Support bikes class was won by Jaco Loots on a Suzuki 250. Mark Roesener took second place on a Husaberg and Claude Brendel on a Kawasaki KDX 200, took third
The Support Quad class was won by Louis Steyl on a Honda TRX 450, with Immo Halbich on a Can am 650 in second and third place going to Phillip van der Merwe on a Honda TRX 450.
