The day started with perfect weather conditions and a well prepared track. During practice one could already see that Erhard was going to be a real strong competitor, Daniel took a few laps to get used to his bike again. After having practiced the last two weeks with the spare bike.

Erhard takes the "holeshot" very closely followed by Bernard Haupt and Matt Geldenhuys on their Bigwheels. Both manage to get past him by the second turn as he makes a mistake entering T2 . Daniel has a terrible start and actually exits T 2 second last in the +- 23 riders field. He soon makes many passes but gets into a tangle in the soft s-bend and goes down. Erhard has now checked out and got into his rhythm riding a flawless race. During second half he manages to pass Bernard Haupt to finish the heat in second place overall – 1st in his class. Daniel manages to catch up drastically and works his way up to 3rd in his class. Calvin Vlaanderen has also a good race finishing 3rd overall, 2nd in the 85 Jnr.

Again Erhard manages to take the "holeshot" ,this time with quit a margin. Matt Geldenhuys second and Calvin Vlaanderen third, Daniel lying somewhere 6th. Matt passes Erhard before the end of lap one and Calvin right on Erhard’s heels. The race is very exiting and in lap 3 Erhard make a mistake in the corner allowing Calvin to come side by side. Calvin takes the inside line before the double, passing Erhard , but Erhard reacts quickly changing lines to retake his lead. Calvin again takes the inside line trying to cut off Erhard but like before Erhard stays calm and by changing his line manages to clinch P1. Next corner same duel and Erhard after being passed 3 times in half a lap actually manages to make a bit of a gap also finding back his rhythm. He now looks stable and very consistent. Calvin a bit on the edge makes a mistake in the following lap going down in the sand section. Daniel manages to pass Calvin due to his mistake and is now lying in P4 overall behind Adriano. After 2 laps he passes him for P3. The raceday seems to be getting a perfect finish as in this position. We would be taking home a 1st and 2nd place, but as racing can never be predicted, Daniel makes his only mistake this race in his last lap putting it down and handing over P2 to Calvin Vlaanderen. Erhard finishes an awesome race, again in P2 overall just 25 seconds behind Matt Geldenhuys. Perfect day for Erhard on his YZ 85.

It seems that our practice is finally paying of, being able to beat all other Bigwheels on a very sandy and bumpy racetrack. Erhard has also now adapted to the Yamaha and seems more and more consistent making very few mistakes and being on of the very few riders that did not fall on this raceday.
