14.02.2007 Pajewski Racing - Racereport
We have completed a very intense race season with racing up to the second last heat to Clinch the title. After yet another huge holeshot for Erhard, Daniel in P2. Erhard showed his determination to get the 2006 Western Province 85cc Title. He wins the race with a 15 second lead and without anyone actually getting anywhere close to him right from the start. Daniel after a awesome start puts it down in the muddy first corner, giving him only a 4th place in heat 1.
Again Erhard "Holeshot" Pajewski takes the lead right from the beginning closely followed by Calvin Vlaanderen. Daniel lying in P3. After about 10 minutes Erhard gets caught up behind a lapper barely escaping. A collision, handing Calvin the lead which he kept until the finish line , but after all Erhard had already won the Season … Daniel finishes 3rd but due to many unlucky incidents during the season only gets a fourth overall in the Western Cape Regional Championship.
In 2006 Erhard also won the CSMX Championship, the CTMX Championship where he was also selected as "Rider of the Year" as well as the "Most improved rider of the year" which his younger brother received in 2005.
For 2007 we have big plans and thanks to our new Sponsors Johnson’s Yamaha and Shift Racewear. We can start the new Season on 2 new YZ 85’s. Unlike the 2006 start of the season we are fully prepared for this one. Erhard will be riding Promini as he is turning 13 this year, leaving him 3 more season’s on a 85 here in SA and another one year in Europe, as the age limit there is 16 years.
Daniel is still staying in 85 Jnr riding with a smallwheel 85 fighting for the 2007 regional title as well as a top 3 finish in the 85 Junior SA National Championships.
After one solid month of absence of any racetrack we have started our training program, which is constructed around technical training and speed. Fortunately we have Matt Geldenhuys still one more year in the 85cc class who will dictate the pace and make Erhard and Daniel raise their levels. Matt finished 2nd in the 2006 SA National Promini Championship making him the favourite for 2007 as many other leading competitors had to move up to 125cc.
Our first race in 2007 will be at Killarney Racetrack on the 17th February.
