09.03.2007 Pajewski Racing - Racereport
After a great start to the season with being signed on by Johnson’s Yamaha Race team who is fully supported by Shark Helmets, Dunlop Tyres , M2R Race ware etc., we had a tragic crash during practise resulting in a "abrasive fracture of the Tibial Spine" for Daniel, meaning that he is out of racing until mid April with his knee Injury.
The first season tester was at Killarney and fortunately it was only a Club event. As we where not yet ready for the powerful 150cc 4 strokes at the Killarney track. The track was very fast and easy and at all 3 starts we had Hondas in 1, 2, 3, 4. Having Erhard play catch-up from P5 and P6 and P5 respectively.

First heat he finished in P5, 2nd Heat in P3 and 3rd Heat in P4 resulting in an very unusual 4th overall in the 85 Promini Class.
After this race we had to do some serious homework with regards to the tuning of the Motorcycle. And I must say we managed to take out between 3 and five seconds per lap on the different tracks.
Last weekend, we went to the season opener National in Queenstown. The weather conditions where horrible and practise went out on a very muddy racetrack.
Erhard’s bike was hauling and he seemed to be at peace with the muddy terrain unlike most of the other 30 entrants. He managed to catch up many riders starting from +- P12 to P2 and was one of the very few riders to end the practise without a fall.
Everyone was waiting in anticipation for the best lap time results after practise in order to know, where they stand, and to many riders surprise, Erhard managed to have the second fastest lap time in the Promini class only to be beaten by Ryan Angilley. With a best lap time of 3.02.045 he beat third place Damon Strydom by .657 seconds and Cape Towns last years Champion Matthew Geldenhuys in P6 by 8.05 seconds. This time the fourstroke did not seem to be the answer and also I do not think Mat is very good in the mud.
After the practise the rain started getting stronger resulting in the race being cancelled when we where lining up for the start. It was very disappointing for us, as we obviously had a very good chance for a podium finish at Erhard’s first National in the Promini Class.
While looking forward to this weekends first Regional at Melkbos I would like to thank Kurt Johnson for giving us the Race-van to travel to the National in Queenstown.
Until after the weekend
