18.01.2008 AIRWASTL-News from Busty "Airwastl" Wolter (GER) - 01/2008

Hello!

Ok, my december schedule was to full to give you a weekly update. So here comes a short summary of my december, but not before I wish you all a happy new year 2008!
The december started with the SX in Geneve/Switzerland for me. The SX racing was great, the crowd was great and the FMX show had awesome riders as Mat Rebeuad, Todd Potter , Alvaro Dal Farra, Ronnie Renner, Thamer Engeli, Bertrand and myself. The setup was nice and so I surprised myself a little bit by learning Nohand Backflips in the practice of the 2nd day!

After Geneve I worked a few days at Fox Germany to get more motivation to focus on my riding... HAHA! But after three days of getting an idea how „real“ work would feel I flew to Dub ai for the Dubai X-Games. I was not riding, but judging at the event. Dubai was a great experience and the riding was sick as well. Back from Dubai I went to the Suzuki Snowcamp in Austria to represent Suzuki and go snowboarding for a few days. Straight from the snowcamp I went to the Supercrossover in Munich. The SX Over was a great event. Especially the mix between SX, supermoto, FMX, MTB dirtjump and the premier of the Indoor Enduro Worldcup on sunday were interesting to watch. The Enduro was pretty entertaining to watch! Unfortunately I had a little bit bad luck on the friday FMX show. After a Nohand Flip I landed a little bit sideways, went into the heyballs, went over the bars and landed on my head. I got a nice concussion and had lost memory of the last two weeks for 2-3 hours. I was asking questions like „oh, I was in Dubai? What did I do there?“ or „What, Alve broke his foot?... Oh, I remember... but it did not happen here!“ (Alvaro broke his foot on fridays practice... so I was wrong...)... Banged up like that I had to skip the Boarderweek and missed out on some snowboard action...
But I was back on the bike for Jimmy Verburghs „Rock‘N‘Ride“ event a week later. The show was pretty good, but I feel sorry for Jimmy, that the spectator turnout was not as big as expected. But Jimmy put in a lot of effort and had many good ideas, so hopefully it will be on again next year. The afterparty was great by the way, but you wouldn‘t expect it any different with Jimmy being the mainman of the event!
For X-Mas I took it easy and enjoyed my time with the family. Afterwards I went with my family on a snowboard vacation during Newyears. Having turned off the phone and not checking any emails is SO relaxing!!!

Straight from the holiday I went to the SX in Dortmund, they had the 25th anniversary. Remi Bizouard, Fab Bauersachs, Nick DeWit, Libor Podmolski, Lukas Weis and myself did a sweet show on all three days and the crowd went nuts: Same procedure as every year... ;-)
Now I am off for another vacation to Southafrica to get my energylevel up for next season. The year will start strong with four Masters of Dirt events in a row, starting in the end of February:
See you there!

Busty
