MX2 triumph in Okahandja for Honda Muxima Racing
Honda Muxima racing is one of Namibia’s few professional Motocross Teams. It was the idea of Angolan national Jose Teixeira to run mx-sport more professional in Namibia and especially give the youngsters a chance to develop. This idea was strongly supported by Honda Pupkewitz who supported the new team with two bikes and at a festive launch in february, Honda Muxima Racing became the official representative of Honda Pupkewitz in Namibia.
 Björn Bierbrauer
The last race at Okahandja was again very succesfull for the new team. Björn Bierbrauer won not only the MX 2 Class but also won the Muller Entertainment King of the Dirt race, thus the “National” in Garden-Town was firmly in red hands last Saturday. On Saturday Björn first had to see how the competition fared with the new 250-2-Stroke. Well Björn rode with grit, courage and determination for his victory.
“I had to fight harder this time, as I did not exactly knew how much power the 250-2-Stroke of the competition-team had, I pushed hard in the first heat but then later I rode with an relaxed pace as I was convinced that I will win. With the power-advantage the 2-Stroke has, it is virtually impossible to win a start in Okahandja, therefore I relied on my fitness and decided to race with a constant speed which my mechanic signalled me every lap. My standard Honda CRF 250-4-Stroke was very well prepared and was running very smooth.”
His speed, determination and work ethic, coupled with the best equipment in the industry, will make him a top candidate for AMU championship honours in June this year.
 Henry o’Kennedy
Another Honda Muxima Racing team-member who also impressed was Henry o’Kennedy who finished 4th in the MX 2 Class and 7th overall in the King of the Dirt. In Heat 1 and Heat two he was able to move to the front and even challenged successfull the ex-champion Ronnie Adams. His input in physical fitness now pays off.
“I had a good dice with Adams, I managed to eventually pass him, this was good for my selfesteem. I had the situation under control and I made no mistakes”, he said after the race.
 Ruhan Gous
Third in line for the Honda Muxima Racing team is Ruhan Gous who finished 7th in the MX 2 Class and 8th overall in the King of the Dirt. Ruhan suffered from hay-fever and could not deliver what he expected from himself. In the King of the Dirt he wanted to do better, but was at the receiving end of a full blow of sand that entered his goggles and he virtually was without any eyesight for several laps.
 Joshua Teixeira
In the schoolboy-class, the MX Lites Class (previously known as 85cc Class) the Honda Muxima Racing team was represented by the son of the team-manager, namely Joshua Teixeira. Joshua rode a sterling race which saw him on the rostrum in third place, this is a major improvement.
Next race for the Honda Muxima racing team takes place on 23rd May in Swakopmund.
