New World Champion in the FIM Women's Motocross World Cup: Katherine Prumm

The FIM Women’s Motocross World Cup finished in Uddevalla today.
There is a new World Champion now and it is Katherine Prumm from New Zealand. This is the best way to recover from the injury of five weeks ago: she broke her wrist in America.
"That was the toughest part of my season: actually overcoming my injury was a big effort and this win is something I have worked so hard for!" said Katherine.
She was not sure to come to Uddevalla for her last chance of grasping the title; she was thinking of it after Teutschenthal, when she was leading the Championship from Livia Lancelot, but the injury in American has been a pain.

In the first moto Katherine was second, behind defending Champion Stephanie Laier. The race was lead by Livia Lancelot until she crashed at the last lap: she made to re join the race and finished third after Jessica Pattersson was disqualified. Someone of her team helped her on the starting line, when it was not allowed. Local rider Elin Mann was fourth with German Alexandra Haupt ending the top five.
In the second moto Livia Lancelot got the lead again at the end of the first lap but she crashed at the fourth one. It was not her luckiest day but she was not physically prepared for such an effort: she was fast but could not keep her speed up for so long. Livia handed first place to Katherine Prumm who controlled Stephanie Laier for the rest of the race. The German defending Champion arrived second at the chequered flag while Prumm was first. Jessica Pattersson got third place and Elin Mann was fourth again ahead of Larissa Papenmeier.
At the end of the day New Zealander Katherine Prumm celebrated both the GP win and the FIM Women’s Motocross World Cup win. German Stephanie Laier lost her title and was second while French Livia Lancelot’s hopes for the title changed into third place.
