12.08.2007 MX3 World Championship in Orehova Vas (SLO) - Results

Sven Breugelmans won in Orehova Vas on his birthday

Belgian rider Sven Breugelmans (BEl, KTM) continued with good results this season. He was the winner of the eleventh race for the MX3 World Championship, which was in Orehova Vas, Slovenia. The race was very emotional for more than 7000 Slovenian spectators. Their best motocross rider Saso Kragelj (SLO, Yamaha) got the podium at his home race.
The organizer had luck with the weather for Sunday's race, after the tremendous conditions of Saturday. The race was perfect, because it was not too hot for the riders. In the first race Breugelmans headed the pack into the first corner and kept the lead till the end. Jussi Vehvilainen (FIN, Honda), who injured his knee one week ago and did not know whether he would be able to ride, was second place in race one. Saso Kragelj finished third.

In the second race Kragelj got a storming start and took the lead. Breugelmans followed him from the begining and ten minutes before the chequered flag he took the lead. He was the overall winner and made himself the best present for his 28th birthday. Kragelj finished second again for a second place overall, ahead of Vehvilainen, third overall. The weekend was not very successful for Yves Demaria (FRA, Yamaha). He was fifth, losing some more points from Breugelmans in the Championship classification.
