Sven Breugelmans (BEL, KTM) was the fastest after the first start. Also Jan Zaremba (CZE, KTM) started very fast and he was behind Breugelmans. But Italian rider Manuel Monni (ITA, Yamaha) eventually moved up to the front. He had a little crash when he tried to pass Breugelmans, with the latter losing control of the bike for a while. Breugelmans finished fourth.
In the second race Italian Monni moved up to the lead of the pack after he had passed Breugelmans, again. Demaria was not satisfied with the his title, he also wanted to win the second race. But Monni was too fast and clinched the eventual victory and the overall. Demaria finished second overall and Jan Zaremba rounded off the podium with the third place in the last race of the season. Breugelmans was fifth overall and second in the World Championship Classification. Jussi Vehvilainen (FIN, Honda) was fourth in the race and he finished as the third best rider of the season.
