After Saturday's injury of Jan Zaremba, even Sunday's race did not pass without accidents. One of the most unfortunated riders was Spanish Alvaro Lozano. In the first race he already had a victory and the safe advantege in front of Sven Breugelmans. But in the last lap of the race he crashed very bad, get injured and he could not continue the race. The lucky winner was Breugelmans. Championship leader Cristian Beggi was close to Breugelmans. He tried to passed him but Breugelmans won at the end. The third was Belgian Kristof Salaets.
French Christophe Martin was one of the riders, who did not have the luck this time. He passed Lozano and he was leading the race. But also the best lap time did not help him because he damaged the bike and finished the first race only some laps before the end.
In the second race Breugelmans and French rider Thomas Allier were the fastest at the start. Allier came in the leadership and took the victory in the second race. Christophe Martin had better second race when he finished second. Beggi and Breugelmans had an interesting battle and Beggi was better this time, while he finished third.
In overall Classification Breugelmans became the winner of the fifth event and he reduced arrears to Beggi who was second today, to only four points. Allier finished third, Salaets was fourth and fifth was home rider Luis Correia. In FIM MX3 World Championship Classification Beggi and Breugelmans are still on the top. Allier came to the third position, while Zaremba got injured and he did not compete in Cortelha. Patrick Caps is fourth and Kristof Salaets is sixsth after five events.
