I am back in Schlema from Fürstlich Drehna very much relaxed. We arrived there on Friday afternoon unpacked every thing put up the tents and levelled the caravan. My dad and I slept in the Van and Thury in their caravan.

Saturday morning we had our first 20 minute practice. This is run in two groups of 40 riders separated in even and odd numbers. By the way this is done in all three classes. i.e. Junior, Youngsters and Masters.

Then in the afternoon we had to ride the 20 minute qualifying practice. By now I was pretty nervous as I did not know the speed of the other 90 riders. After the qualli I could not believe my eyes when I saw my name in 5th place in my group. On Sunday I entered as tenth (only the top 20 of each group qualify+ 2 reserve riders) the start gate but feeling a bit more relaxed as I had proven to myself that I can ride with the top riders of Europe."

"When the gate fell I had a not such a promising start and only managed 14th in the first lap but then started to concentrate and rode up to 7th position but was in 5th and fell back again. Hey 20 minutes plus 2 laps at high speed is not so easy.

Heat two I had a better start 7th was then passed but fought back and when I started to fight for 6th place the 8th guy which I had just passed, a rider apparently known for this type of riding, passed me on the exit of a corner and took out my front wheel and I had a very hard crash and broke my clutch lever.From this crash I also have a shining blue eye and both arms pretty bruised.This then meant that my top ten overall position was gone which I was dreaming of. I ended 13th overall.
