01.10.2007 Motocross of European Nations in Gaildorf (GER) - Results
On the renowned German track of Gaildorf, the Italian team, composed by Manuel Monni, Deny Philippaerts and Alex Salvini, managed to win for the second time in a row the Motocross of European Nations and got again the title of European Champion for national teams. The event saw the participation of 22 national teams.
Everything was very well prepared by the organiser. After strong rain over the week the weather got good over the weekend and so the teams had perfect conditions for qualifying and the races.
The Qualifying was won by the Italian Team (2 points) in front of Germany (6 pts) and France (8 pts.). The Teams from Cyprus (21. pos. / 40 pts.) and Lithuania (22. pos. / 42 pts.) couldn’t qualify for the final races on Sunday.

1st Race (EMX2 + EMX Open):

Alex Salvani, Italy did a start/finish victory, French Xavier Boog got second in front of the first Belgian Kristof Salaets. The fourth place went to Saso Kragelj from Slovenia. With place 5 from the EMX2 rider Deny Philippaerts / Italy. The Italian Team went into lead after the first heat in front of France an the Czech Republic The German Markus Schiffer being second until 4 laps to go had to stop because of gear box problems.

The second heat went to Max Nagl after a hard fight with Manuel Priem, Belgium, at the end second. Third got Manuel Monni in front of Philippaerts and the Czech rider Filip Neugebauer. Team result after 2nd heat: 1. Italy – 2. Czech Republik – 3. Austria.

The last heat was won by Evgeny Bobryshev/Russia before Maximilian Nagl/Germany, as Nagl crashed 200 m in front of the finish line, but he got second in front of Boog and Priem, both Belgium and on place 5 Schiffer/Germany.

As one French rider had to be disqualified in race 2 at the end it was again Italy, winning the European MX of Nations, second Germany, and third Belgium on the podium. 4. Slovenia and 5. Austria.
