On the renowned German track of Gaildorf, the Italian team, composed by Manuel Monni, Deny Philippaerts and Alex Salvini, managed to win for the second time in a row the Motocross of European Nations and got again the title of European Champion for national teams. The event saw the participation of 22 national teams. Everything was very well prepared by the organiser. After strong rain over the week the weather got good over the weekend and so the teams had perfect conditions for qualifying and the races.
The Qualifying was won by the Italian Team (2 points) in front of Germany (6 pts) and France (8 pts.). The Teams from Cyprus (21. pos. / 40 pts.) and Lithuania (22. pos. / 42 pts.) couldn’t qualify for the final races on Sunday.
1st Race (EMX2 + EMX Open):

The fourth place went to Saso Kragelj from Slovenia. With place 5 from the EMX2 rider Deny Philippaerts / Italy. The Italian Team went into lead after the first heat in front of France an the Czech Republic The German Markus Schiffer being second until 4 laps to go had to stop because of gear box problems.

The last heat was won by Evgeny Bobryshev/Russia before Maximilian Nagl/Germany, as Nagl crashed 200 m in front of the finish line, but he got second in front of Boog and Priem, both Belgium and on place 5 Schiffer/Germany.
