International MX News : MX / SX in Europe
17.01.2008 News from the ADAC MX Masters

Price money increased to over 200 000 euros

In the upcoming season the riders fight for almost 210,000 euros price money at the ADAC MX Masters. The decision to rise the price money was made at the organizer meeting in Munich. The individual events are now strengthened since larger current price monies can be announced. Primarily for guest and private riders the participation gets more attractive by the increased boni and the financial incentive connected with that. The qualification money is raised by 50 per cent.

But even without this additional financial incentive the interest in the ADAC MX Masters is unbroken. In the limelight oft the upcoming season, next to ADAC MX Masters champion Marcus Schiffer (KTM Sarholz Racing) from Frechen and ADAC MX Junior Cup winner Aleksandr Tonkov (DE-TE MA Ryazan motor sport) from Russia, is motocross talent Ken Roczen (Suzuki International Junior Team) from Mattstedt.
For the 13-year old the title in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup has top priority this year. As is well known, he had to abandon his title hopes last year. Roczen insured himself a few days before the finals and had broken his forearm. The title was thus gone. He wants to fetch this one in 2008. Furthermore Roczen who celebrates his 14th birthday in April will participate in the MX2-EM. A novelty. Especially for this the UEM has put the entry age down to 14 years.
But not enough the unusual features. Roczen most likely participates in the ADAC MX Masters class at some races with his 250 cc bike. In spite of some critics nothing special for him. Critics regarded the change to the big motorcycle as premature. Recently Roczen commented on an interview with the motocross magazine MotoX:

"This kid on a 250 cc bike, these guys are crazy… But anyway. Little do they know. Who knows me, knows that I can do this and that I want it. And that neither my parents or my people of Suzuki ever succeeded with anything that is against my will."

New date for the race in Holzgerlingen

The sixth run of the ADAC MX Masters in Holzgerlingen is brought forward by a week: the new date for the race is August 23rd/24th. Reason for the change is the new date for the Motocross-Chamionship in Ireland. The race has been postponed until the end of August.

Online enrolment possible as from now

The ADAC offers the riders a new service for the season 2008. All participants can enrole online for the ADAC MX Masters as from now. The online form is available if you log on to www.adac-mx-masters.de. Enrolment ends on February 23rd, 2008.
