Four weeks to go until the wild mx-men start their engines
Hardcore-mx is a common term for offroad experience beyond enduro-tracks or a visit to the next ice-cream parlour on your moped. Hardcore-mx in perfection can be experienced during the "Full Throttle AMU Motocross Championship of African Nations" on 27th and 28th of June at the most popular Gallina Motocross Park, just outside of Windhoek, situated on the right hand side of the road towards Okahandja.
Brandon Wheeler (RSA)
This is the motorport spectacle of the year, that separates the real manne from the boys, a race in which only the toughest will win the chequered flag.
In the moment the WMCC (Windhoek Moto Cross Club) received about 90 entries of which 50 alone come from South Africa with household names like Darryl Fitzgerald, Brad Purchase or Brandon Wheeler in the MX 1 Class and Matthew Geldenhuys, Anthony Raynard or Wade Den in the MX 2 Class category. Names also well known in Namibia are those of the Botswanan boys Ross Branch and Carr Lebatha who race under the South African flag. From Zimbabwe the WMCC received entries from aces like Ashley Thixton, Kurt Greatorex, Hannes Swan and Trevor Thixton. The lists of riders from Kenya, Uganda, Morocco, Mozambique, Angola or Tanzania are expected within the next few days.
Geoff Den (RSA)
The organising team around Michael Nederlof are fully engaged in preparing this event to become a memorable one for all visitors from abroad, but also for the home-boys who will give their level best to impress friends and foes alike. The AMU (Africa Motorcycle Union) will reward this engagement by offering of high level motocross events to the African continent in future and Namibia is prepared to accept such offers in future.
Ross Branch (BOT)
This years Full Throttle AMU Motocross Championship of African Nations will see comprehensive media coverage, including of local TV teams as well as teams from South Africa. The race is organised by the WMCC, main sponsor is “Full Throttle” from South Africa.
